My girlfriend came and pushed us to get up and go for a hike. It was the impetus to finally go out and experience the subtleness of the dry hills and minimal vegetation around Santa Barbara.
It took me years to appreciate the infinitesimal changes of the seasons here. It is similar to the infinitesimal changes in the lush evergreen native vegetation of Dunedin.
In the heat of the day it was the shadow play that caught my eye.
Shadows.
The leaf patterns remind me of that lace.
Why can't I get it out of my head. It was sold out.
Huh, you say?
It is always fun to top out and have all of Santa Barbara spread out below. We won't go to the ridge, but is enough to get the heart pumping and to feel alive.
