I knew my designs were weak, or at least my drawing skills, when I turned in my project a few weeks before I left New Zealand. But designs are always rough when we start at work. So, I was not surprised when I got called in for a review by the director days before I was leaving. It did hurt that she wanted me to quit then and there, but I convinced her I had nothing to loose. Why not let me try.

It was beginning to be a pattern. Go through this rough spot while I scrambled to get my head around whatever I was supposed to do and then work my butt off to execute it on time. No difference here. I plodded forward with my blocks, worked, sewed a project, talked about quitting, talked about how to do it, talked about how to approach blogging, observed, and fretted. One of my Columba Moms gave me some great advice. "Just go forward, eventually you will be inspired or know if it wasn't meant to be.

I kept waiting and waiting, but there always seemed to be an excuse for why I hadn't started to blog.

Until.........

I'd heard lots of people describe how stories just came out or flowed out of them, but that always seemed a little hokey to me. Then I awoke on my solstice birthday with the blog pouring out. It even came out quite clearly organized. I was too shocked to question. I just wrote it down as fast I could. Any passing thoughts went down too. By the fifth post the pattern was set. The words just had to come out.

Would the design come? I wasn't sure, but for now I was just thankful for words.

The Fashion Concept:

Body - asphalt grey and asphalt texture. My twist on the little black dress. Something body flattering and simple.

Color - lining. Let the inner self peak out. Can't you see it hidden under those buttons.

Screen - A lace cover to screen/enhance the body shape. Shadow play.

You can't see them. I'm not surprised, but they are starting to come out.
