This was a good design. It met the clients needs, was conceptually solid and had some great special effects. But take a look at "A Single Note" in action.
Randy was hired. Yay!!!!!
After being brought up to speed he did a once over bringing the plans to the next level.
The kitchen turned in to this. It is so fun to have others who get the conceptual idea and can take it higher. Often it becomes a one upmanship for awhile before everything settles again. One persons suggestion stimulates ideas from others and vise versa.
Randy continued the plane of the kitchen wall with cabinets, just making a small working counter nook. The island became a subtle wedge and the breakfast table became a piece of furniture.
To the lay person these changes can be subtle. Myself, I sometimes cringe that I didn't think of it first, but mostly I appreciate the expertise of another discipline that obviously just wants to help produce the best project possible.

Randy repeated the subtle kitchen island angle in the tub and incorporated the glass wall plane at the shower with the dropped entry ceiling.
Normally we do another once over and focus on the interiors and casework while the plans are under review at the building department, but with Randy here we concentrate on drafting up his additions
This plywood paneled back wall to the master bed was a nice final note juxtaposing the wall of glass looking out at the water.
